“Baltic Cup 2008” Competition

Competition participants will be divided into two categories – amateurs and professionals. Categories are divided into nominations according to styles in the following order.  

AMATEUR NOMINATION
Oriental youth solo; Oriental youth group.
Oriental adult solo; Oriental adult group.
Belly dance show solo; Belly dance show group. <
Folklore group.  

PROFESSIONAL CATEGORY NOMINATION  
Professional solo.
Requirements:
Four years of work experience, duration of appearance – 6 min, style Raks-Sharki. Costume – 2 parts.

AGE OF PARTICIPANTS
Youth nomination from 15 to 21 years of age
Adult nomination from 21 to.......
Belly dance show from 18 to.......
Professional solo from 21 to.......

PARTICIPATE FEE
Solo - 40 lt.
Group 15lt/person.
Professional – 50 lt.
Fee is valid for each nomination separately.

EVALUATION CRITERIA
1. Technics.
2. Choreography.
3. Correspondence of style to music.
4. Artistic expression.
5. Image – image on stage, individuality, costume, make-up.

COMPULSORY CONDITIONS
1. In group nominations minimum number of participants - 4, maximum - 10.
2. Duration of appearance – no more than 4 min.
3. Three styles are acceptance for Oriental nomination: Oriental, Pop Oriental, Modern Oriental. <
4. Song/music piece cannot be only drum solo , dance can have drums only for 1\3 of the music piece.
5. Acrobatic moves are forbidden.
6. In Oriental nomination costume should be of two parts.
7. Veil can be used for entrance.
8. Folklore styles:
Baladi, Saidi, Alexandria , Nubia , Hagala, Shabi, Gavazi, Chaligi, Dabka.
9. CD should have 1 music piece (only the one you will dance). Music should be recorded on high-quality CD and have 2 versions. MP3 is unacceptable format.

Depending on number of participants, in solo nominations duration of appearance will be shortened by turning down the volume. Details will be announced on www.pilvosokis.lt one week before the competition.

In professional nomination during selection participants should be ready to dance improvisation.

3 participants will be invited to the stage, duration of improvisation 1 - 1.5 min.  

Applications for the competition are accepted until April 15, 2008. Together with response to your application you will receive details on payment of participant fee.

- 4 seminars – Prof. Hassan Khalil ( Egypt ).
- 1 seminar – Nuria ( Belgium ).
- invitation to show night ‘Golden Autumn”.
- appearance in Gala-show of “PYRAMID 2008”.
II place . Invitation to 4 seminars, appearance in Gala-show of “Vilnius Oriental 2009” Festival.
III place . Invitation to 3 seminars, appearance in Gala-show of “Vilnius Oriental 2009” Festival.

AMATEUR SOLO
I place . Invitation to 4 seminars, appearance in Gala-show of “Vilnius Oriental 2009” Festival.
