Suha Deeb


She is a master instructor and performer of authentic raqs sharqi. She has spent the past three years touring the world giving workshops on Golden-era style oriental dance geared towards performers and instructors.

Suha is a third-generation oriental dancer whose talent as a natural performer began to show at a very early age. Shortly after she began giving bellydance classes in Lebanon, her reputation as a true authority on oriental dance spread amongst local and foreign enthusiasts. Her workshops are known for being very professional and structured according to her own methodology that truly unveils the technique and spirit of real, undiluted oriental dance, making her a unique instructor.

As the last remaining breath of pure oriental dance, Suha is determined not to let this beautiful art-form die out. A gifted and complete performer, she will bring the glamour and elegance of decades past to a new generation.

16th – 17th of May

Assaya. Technique and routine.
Dancing technique with assaya: new combinations and choreography in lebaneese folkloric style.
Duration 2 h., fee 30 Eu.
For all levels.

Movements and combinations fluidity technique.
During this session Suha will present technique of fluid and soft dancing. A lot of attention will be payed to arm movement technique in stile of legendary dancers. The students will feel sensitivity and feminity of autentic oriental dance, understand how to keep grace in posture every moment of the dance.
Duration 2 h., fee 30 Eu.
From intermediate level.

Oriental. Technique and routine.
Classical oriental dance routine to a traditional music with touch of Golden Era style. Dancing this choreography the students will feel themselves as dancers from old Egyptien movees.
Duration 4 h., price 60 Eu.
From intermediate level.

Arabic rithms and combinations (additional lesson „Ritms and sagats“).
During this workshop Suha will play and explain different ritms. Student will be taught to recognize sertain ritms while music is played and how to interprete them while dancing, as an example different movements and combinations will be presented.
The lesson „Ritms and sagats“ in addition would alow students to learn playing certain ritms with finger zills while dancing.
Duration 2 h., fee 30 Eu.
+ 1 h. „Sagats“, fee 15 Eu.
All levels (sagats lesson for those who know basic playing technique).
